Editorial Policy
The Hemlock publication of Socrate High School has adopted the following as its mission:
- To publish news, information and opinion articles for and about student activities.
- To maintain high ethical standards with regard to fairness, personal and legal rights, responsibility and accuracy.
- To provide a forum for free and responsible expression of student opinion.
- To present well-balanced, researched coverage of issues of broader student interest.
- To strive for a high level of competency in the technical aspects of writing, including grammar, spelling, clarity and precision.
- To support students’ creativity by having them as contributors and sharing their works such as drawings, pictures, audio content and videoclips.
- To welcome diversity and increase the scope and depth of our coverage in order to heighten understanding and awareness among our entire school community members.
